About ACC Treatment with Acupuncture

The ACC scheme provides a comprehensive, 24 hour, no-fault cover and entitlements for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors who suffer personal injury in New Zealand.

What does ACC cover?

ACC covers the treatment of personal injury - a physical or mental injury caused by a physical injury, or a mental injury caused by sexual assault or abuse. 

Sarah Tritt psychotherapist is an ACC treatment provider treating mental injury caused by a physical injury, or a mental injury caused by sexual assault or abuse. 

Acupuncturist Lu Miln are ACC treatment providers treating physical injury sustained either at work, on a sports field, at home or anywhere in New Zealand.

How to claim

When you have sustained an injury, the first step is to get treatment as soon as possible,  waiting until it feels better can often make your injury worse as people often don't fully rest and allow recovery to occur, if further injury occurs the recovery will probably take longer!     If you are unsure please get advice.    

Getting ACC cover is simple, visit your G.P, Physiotherapist, Chiropractor or Osteopath, they will assess your injury.  You and the practitioner will fill out a claim form at the time of consultation, the claim is then lodged with ACC. You will be given a referral or a copy of the ACC 45 form you fill out.  You take this to a registered ACC treatment provider.

What are the costs?

ACC will cover the bulk of the treatment cost; at Nikau Room there is a $10  co- payment for acupuncture treatment, for senior citizens, children and students ACC treatment is FREE.  

ACC patients accept that if  ACC does not cover the treatment cost that the patient will pay for the treatment provided.
